Call Me Remy
I have 10 years of professional experience in graphic and exhibition design. I landed an internship in the Museum of Science and Industry's Design+Exhibit Development department my 2nd year at the International Academy of Design and Technology. A trial by fire, my first day saw me designing final production files for the historic annual celebration of African-American excellence in the fields of science, technology, engineering and medicine, the Black Creativity exhibition.
Since then I haven't looked back. Upon graduating with a BFA in Advertising and Design, I earned a staff position as Production Associate, a titled created explicitly for my unique set of skills. I've since earned the title of Graphic Designer III.
DESIGN
I've served as lead designer on projects including the biennial Black Creativity Innovation Studio, MSI Flight School flight simulators, and the annual Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light celebration, including offsite graphic installations. In the course of providing intriguing and relevant content for nearly 1.5 million guests per year, I've been honored to work with massive brands and intellectual property including Warner Bros. Harry Potter, Dr. Seuss, Charles M. Schulz' Peanuts, multiple iterations of Gunther von Hagens' Body Worlds, and the Walt Disney archive.
Development
Handling projects from inception to execution bring an unparalleled feeling of accomplishment. From initial concepts to seemingly endless drafts and drawings until the project's debut, nothing can compare. In addition to Black Creativity Innovation Studio and MSI Flight School, I've helmed the design of Materials Science, student educational program and interactive experience Mission to Mars and the White City Tour experience.
Solutions
Providing simplistic, innovative answers to complex questions has afforded me an understanding of my own design process. Revealing other's potential with a few strokes of the pen or keyboard is my favorite part of collaboration. The secret to providing solutions is that they already exist; it up to the parties involved to unearth it.
